James C. Whelan
Partner
James Whelan qualified as a solicitor in 1978, he has a B.Comm Degree from University College Cork and has completed many years as a general practitioner. In recent times, he has concentrated on dealing with Commercial Property Development, Property Taxation Schemes, Commercial and Civil Litigation, Shipping, Banking, Probate and Licensing Law.
James enjoys sailing, rugby and is a keen golfer.

John T. Whelan
Managing Partner
John Whelan attended CBC, Cork and obtained his BCL Degree at University College Cork. He is a qualified solicitor for many years and also holds a Business Studies Qualification. He is now the Managing Partner of the firm. While running the practice, he concentrates his efforts on substantial property transactions including private client, litigation both civil and personal injury and he also advises Clients on wills, probate, trusts and the administration of estates.
John is a keen sailor, is a member of and has a boat at the Kinsale Yacht Club, as well as having an avid interest in rugby.

Cathal O’Sullivan
Partner
Cathal O’Sullivan joined the firm in 1997 and specialises in the areas of Commercial Property, Residential Property, Family Law, Litigation Emigration Law, Licensing, Banking and Planning Law. Cathal was awarded first place by the Law Society of Ireland in Real Property.
Cathal plays soccer regularly, he is a member of a Choir and enjoys films.

Ciara Quinlan
Solicitor
Ciara Quinlan has been with Whelan Solicitors since she qualified as a solicitor in 2005. She holds a BCL degree in Law from University College Cork.
Ciara specialises in all aspects of property law and advising on lending in connection with property financing. She also practices in the areas of Family Law, District Court and Circuit Court Litigation and Debt Collection.
Ciara enjoys many outdoor activities and takes part in salsa dancing and kick boxing.
